Privacy Policy

1. What is AnchorCast?

AnchorCast is a free, open-source desktop application for Windows. It is installed and runs entirely on your local machine. It is not a web service, SaaS product, or cloud platform.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

AnchorCast does not collect, store, process, or transmit any of the following:

• Audio recordings or sermon content
• Transcriptions or detected Bible verses
• Personal information (name, email, location, etc.)
• Usage data, analytics, or telemetry
• IP addresses or device identifiers
• Church or congregation information
• Song libraries or schedule data

There are no user accounts and no registration is required.

3. Local Processing Only

All audio processing and AI transcription happens entirely on your local machine. In offline mode (the default), your microphone audio is processed by the bundled Whisper AI model and never leaves your PC. No audio is sent to any server, cloud service, or third party.

In online/cloud transcription mode (optional, disabled by default), audio is sent to a third-party speech-to-text service. If you use this mode, that service's own privacy policy applies. AnchorCast itself still does not store or log any of this data.

4. This Website (anchorcastapp.com)

This website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, advertising networks, or analytics services. We do not collect visitor data, browsing behaviour, or any personally identifiable information from website visitors.

The website makes requests to the GitHub public API to display live download and star counts. These are client-side requests subject to GitHub's Privacy Policy. No personal data is sent.

5. GitHub

AnchorCast's source code is hosted on GitHub. If you visit our GitHub repository, download releases, or open issues, GitHub's own privacy policy applies. We do not control GitHub's data practices.

6. Open Source

AnchorCast is fully open source under the MIT license. You can inspect every line of code at github.com/anchorcastapp-team/anchorcastapp to verify exactly what the application does.

7. Children's Privacy

AnchorCast does not collect any data from anyone, including children. The application is designed for church operators and technical volunteers.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make any material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the changes in the Changelog.
